Frolic Parade Update

If you are able to help decorate the MHSC parade float, we will have supplies available and will be working on the float this Saturday beginning at 5:00 PM at the Kraemer’s house (3160 Getz Road).  If any high school player wants to bring / loan their yard sign that would be great.  You could bring it either on Saturday or on Sunday.

Line-up for the parade begins at 11:00 AM on Lincoln Street by the Middle School.  We will be there by 11:30 AM so please look for a white truck with a black trailer … hopefully you can’t miss it due to the awesome float decor. 🙂  We will have Mount Horeb Softball Club wrist bands for the girls to hand out!

If girls want to wear jerseys or red t-shirts that works. It will be pretty warm on Sunday so shorts and tennies will probably be most comfortable.  If you have trouble finding the float in the line-up on Sunday, please call or text either Jeff Kraemer at 608-575-5783 or Kate Kraemer at 608-239-8207.

Please RSVP HERE if you/your daughter(s) can walk / ride with the float.  U10 through High School ages are welcome.

The Mount Horeb Softball Club awards their first ever scholarship, and were honored to present a $250 scholarship each to two very deserving young women, who embody the softball spirit, and the ideals of the Mount Horeb Softball Club.

Congratulations Gabby Coulthard and Annika Frame ~ we know you will both do great things!!

JV & Varsity Field Improvements!

A little cold weather couldn’t slow down improvements at the softball fields in early December.  Mike and Bret from American Fence Company braved the cold weather to install backstops for the new pitching lanes at the Varsity Softball Field.  In addition, a backstop net extension was installed behind the varsity field home plate to keep more foul balls out of the street next spring.  In addition, the netting behind home plate on the junior varsity field was tightened.  A special thank you to Jim Ramos, owner of American Fence Company, for the donation of all the fencing materials and the labor to install them.  Jim also generously donated the extension posts and hardware at the varsity field backstop.

Batting Cage Update

Just in time to work off some Thanksgiving over indulgence, Jon Steinhauer, Bob Sonnenburg (grandfather of Abby and Kimmy Steinhauer), Eric Swiggum, Tim Post, and Kurt Adler worked to install the steel frame of the new batting cage located north of the varsity field.  Thank you to Tim Post Services for providing the use of a skid steer for the installation of the posts.  Those familiar with the original batting cage layout will notice the foot print has been enlarged.  Thanks to Derek Dahlk and Finks Excavating the area was doubled in size.  This increased area will provide opportunities for players to complete additional batting practice work off of tees.
