Softball Club Meeting

The Mount Horeb Softball Club (MHSC) is ready for the first all club meeting since electing officers at the end of August.  The board has been working very hard over the last two months pursuing fundraising ideas, putting field improvements in motion, creating a website, and writing by-laws for our new club.

The meeting is set for Monday, November 14th at 7:00 PM at the State Bank of Cross Plains (next to Culver’s) in the upstairs meeting room.

Please view the proposed draft of the by-laws that will give guidance to the club now and in the future.  Provide comments to Kurt Adler (email) by the end of the day November 11, 2016, to allow time for changes to be made prior to the meeting.

At this meeting we will discuss any changes to be made and will vote to accept this document.  With your help, we will make the by-laws official, which will allow us to complete a number of crucial steps to legitimize our club.

Secondly, please view the meeting agenda for an idea of what will be discussed.  As you can see there will be multiple opportunities for you to share your ideas on a number of topics that will shape the future of the Club, and what we can offer the softball program in our community.

You will also have the unique opportunity to become an inaugural member of MHSC.  Membership forms will be sent out in the next couple of weeks, in addition, they will soon be available on the website, as well as at the November 14th meeting.  (Single Membership – $25, Couple Membership – $40, Additional persons within your household – $10/each w/ maximum of $75/address).

We truly hope to see you at this meeting to start the Club off with a bang!

Fall Ball ~ Week 6

The last games are here already! The season has gone fast. Week six’s games will be in Sauk City again this Sunday, but playing different teams than last time. The first game will be against Madison Memorial and the second against Madison East.

We will be playing at the Sauk Prairie High School fields located near the intersection of Sycamore and Oak Street.

Please be at the field by ~8:00 AM, with shoes on and ready to warm up shortly after. The first game starts at 9 AM.

A couple housekeeping items:

  1. If you are unable to make the game please text Coach Jeramie (608.516.9189) by Friday of each week so he can adjust the line-ups for the games.
  2.  Looks like most players are not wearing our “fancy” jerseys, which is no problem, so please bring them to the game and return them to Kurt before the first game (always chaos after second game). They could come in handy some day and they were free so worth hanging onto.

Fall Ball ~ Week 5

Week 5’s location will be in Windsor at Fireman’s Park (6716 Park Street), which is about a 55 minute drive from Mount Horeb.  We play DeForest Gold first, and then DeForest Blue.

Players should be at the field by ~8:00 a.m., with shoes on and ready to warm up by 8:15 a.m. at the latest.  The first game starts at 9:00 a.m.

Both USH-131 at CTH-PD is closed this weekend, and CTH-P between Pine Bluff and Cross Plains remains closed.

Fall Ball ~ Week 4

Week four games will be at the Poynette High School (108 Cleveland Street) on Sunday, October 2nd.  Fields are located South of the High School building.  We will be playing Poynette Orange first, then Poynette Black. It looks like about a 55 minute drive.

Players should be at the field by ~8:00 AM, with shoes on and ready to warm up by 8:15 AM at the latest. The first game starts at 9 AM.

If you are unable to make a game please text Coach Jeramie (608-516-9189) by Friday of each week so he can adjust the line-ups for the games. It is very difficult to adjust line-ups on the fly the morning of the games. Please, respect Jeramie’s time and notify him if you cannot make it – thank you.

See you Sunday. Parents, please bring cameras so we can add pictures to the new website (www.mohosoftballclub.com).

Homecoming Concession Stand Success!

The Mount Horeb Softball Club had a successful night raising funds at the Concession Stand and at the Cotton Candy and Snow Cone Making Stand at the Mount Horeb Homecoming Football game!  The stand was a huge success with a line 20 people deep at times!   Thanks to everyone who pitched in to continue working towards the Club’s goals!

Fall Ball ~ Week 2

The week two location will be at the West field at Twining Park in Monroe on Sunday, September 18th.  Please be at the field by ~8:00 a.m. and be ready to warm up by 8:15 a.m.  The first game begins at 9:00 a.m.
