Softball Skills Camp
Jadyn Holman will be teaching a three day softball skills camp through the Mount Horeb Rec Department from June 18th to June 20th at Grundahl Park. The camp will focus on the fundamentals of softball: basic rules, throwing, catching, hitting, pitching, base running, and position play. Players will hone their skills in a non-competitive environment where the emphasis is on teamwork, fun, and proper mechanics. This program is for all skills levels. Rain Date will be 6/21 if needed.
- 8 / 9 year olds: 9:00 to 10:30 AM
- 10 / 11 year olds: 10:30 AM to noon
- 12 / 13 year olds: 1:00 to 2:30 PM

Varsity Tournament & Poster Signing

The Vikings will take on Dodgeville and Oregon this Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Varsity Softball Field in Mount Horeb!
The Varsity team will be signing posters after the first game. Stop out and watch some softball and get a poster signed! Concession stand will be open.

Youth Night – April 29th

Due to bad weather on the 22nd, Youth Night has been rescheduled to this coming Monday, April 29th.
Youth softball players are invited to join the Varsity team on the field before the Varsity game vs. Evansville during the National Anthem. The Varsity team will also be signing posters after the game.
Game time: 5:00 p.m. vs. Evansville – Stop on out to support Viking Softball!
Viking Varsity & JV Event Nights
Youth Night – April 22nd
Youth softball players are invited to join the Varsity team on the field before the game during the National Anthem, and the Varsity team will sign posters after the game.
Mount Horeb Softball decals will be for sale for those interested.
Game time is 5PM vs. River Valley
Parent / Grandparent Night – April 30th
Parents and Grandparents of both Varsity and JV players
will be recognized after the games.

Senior Night – May 10th
This year’s Seniors, Jadyn Holman, Ashley Lange, and Maddie Kraemer, will be recognized after the game.

Fan Appreciation Night – May 14th
Flyers will be handed out listing all players’ names and who is their #1 fan!

Due to the large number of girls registered for the U10 age division (which is fantastic!), we’ve decided to modify the skills evaluation time slots based on grade to help balance out the numbers – see update below:

Winter Hitting Clinic
The Mount Horeb Softball Club, along with our new Varsity Coach, Jeramie Holman, have asked Andie Varsho, UW Platteville’s Head Softball Coach to offer a Winter Hitting Clinic over the break on Saturday, December 29th.
There will be two 90-minute sessions by grade level, and the cost is $25/player. The maximum number of players per session is 14, and the registration deadline is December 22nd. The clinic will be held in the Mount Horeb High School Aux Gym.
– Grades 6th through 8th: 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
– Grades 9th through 12th: 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Field of Dreams at the Duck Pond
The Mount Horeb softball girls are invited to participate in the Field of Dreams event that takes place before the Mallards game at the Duck Pond on Friday, July 20th. There is only room for 20 players, so please let Brenda Monroe know as soon as possible if your daughter would like to participate. She will get a free ticket to the game and a t-shirt for participating. Brenda will generate the player lineup on a first come first served basis.
Gates open at 5:30 PM, and the girls will take the field shortly after that. Follow up communication will be sent to those that are attending. Families are welcome to join in the fun and can purchase any combination of the following ticket prices.

- The number of tickets, and which ticket type. These can be mixed and matched, but do not count your daughter if she is participating. Kids participating in the FOD event are free.
