VOLUNTEER-IN-PROGRESS (VIP) PROGRAM

The VIP Program will be utilized again this year to run the youth season and staff the Troll Tourney on June 21-23 in Mount Horeb. To support the activities revolving around our annual youth tournament, a parent of each player who is on a team that is registered to play in the Mount Horeb Troll Tourney will be responsible to volunteer for a minimum of one shift at the Troll Tourney. Each shift will equal half of the total VIP credits for the year. Teams will be assigned shifts on days opposite that their daughter plays so you will not miss any activities. This change does not apply to the head coach and the first and second (if applicable) assistant coaches on each team.

The VIP program fee is $150 per player, $300 max per family. At the end of the season, if you have fulfilled your volunteer requirements you will receive a refund. There is a choice to opt out of volunteering as part of the registration process if you know you will not be able to commit any hours during the season.  If you choose this option you will not be eligible for a refund at a later date. For more information, visit www.mohosoftballclub.com/volunteer. Players are NOT registered until payment for the VIP Program has been made / received.

PAYMENT

In order to streamline the registration process, all payments for registration, jerseys, and VIP are required to be paid on-line at time of registration.

  3. The high school team finished 18-9 and advanced to the first round of Sectionals (Regional Champions for 3rd year in a row)
  4. Nine teams made up of 90 players have already committed to play on the Club’s youth tournament teams for the 2024 season
  5. Provided one, $500 scholarship to a deserving graduating senior
  6. Co-hosted with MH Youth Baseball our second umpire training course.  Ten high school ladies worked as umpires for our youth season
  7. Provided a pitching clinic that filled two sessions
  8. Hosted our second Troll Tournament – a Friday night kickoff event under the lights at the high school followed by two days of competitive team play at Sunrise.  Another successful event!
  9. A return to the Frolic parade was made with a fantastic float and a large group of youth player participants!!
  10. Completed a very successful calendar raffle fundraiser by our high school and youth players
  11. Worked at a football concession stand – a rainy night, but fun had by our dedicated volunteers!
  12. The field lights officially came on at Field #1 on April 12th to light the night for a U14 practice…thank you to the Mount Horeb School District, the Village of Mount Horeb and numerous corporate partners in making this dream a reality.
  13. Hosted a ribbon cutting for the new field lights, gave away over 200 meals and softball swag
  14. Completed roof and fencing installation at the two new dugouts at Field #2.
  15. Began the installation of a second batting cage, a tee hitting area, and a moved/enlarged pitching area….this all started with a comment, “maybe we should buy a spare batting cage net” and spun into something amazing very quickly.
  16. Completed rehabilitation of Field #1 dugouts that included tuckpointing, power washing, painting, and fence replacement/upgrades.
  17. The School District continued their support of our program by installing an entire field irrigation system on Field #1 and water spicket access at Field #2.  In addition, as part of the dugout project, they added a window to the concession stand to cut down on moisture.
  18. Continued our Chamber of Commerce membership
  19. Purchased $2,800 in youth equipment and gear to outfit our growing youth program
  20. Received a generous $1,200 grant from the Mt. Horeb Rotary to help purchase youth gear

  23. 2023 Revenue:  $75,752  /   2023 Expenditures:  $78,423

A huge thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, committee members, and board members who make everything possible.  In addition to celebrating these tangible achievements, we should never forget to celebrate the individual accomplishments and firsts of our players – that first hit, the first home run, the first inning pitched, and for some the first practice and the first game.  Thank you to all who have made this year a success and may we never lose sight of these personal accomplishments.  We are proud of all our players!!  Here’s to an amazing 2024.  Go Mount Horeb Softball Nation!!
