Happy New Year

Hello Softball Families,
Happy New Year from the Mount Horeb Softball Club!! We hope this message finds you and your family healthy and ready for an amazing 2022!

Although not apparent by looking outside, softball season is right around the corner. Planning for the youth season registration is well underway and our Youth Tournament Committee is also working hard on our inaugural tourney – Troll Tourney ’22.

Year in Review:
We would again like to take this opportunity to reflect on all the great accomplishments of 2021. Although, it was not a perfectly normal year, it was still a very successful one!  Click here for a list of 2021 accomplishments.

January Club Meeting:
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our next club meeting on January 17 – location, time, and agenda to follow. Join us to stay current on all the things happening with your player(s).

Officer Elections:
Elections were held at the annual meeting in December. Thank you for all those who attended this fun event at the Walk-On Bar and Grill. The board welcomes Nicole Imbus to the role of Treasurer. Thank you, Nicole, for stepping up to take on this responsibility! The board looks forward to working with Nicole and would also like to take this opportunity to thank Doug Fisher for his dedication to this important role for the past two years. Eric Swiggum was re-elected to the Vice President role and Jeff Mester is continuing to represent the Club as Advisor #2. Both Eric and Jeff play key roles within the Club as not only officers but Field and Youth Coordinators respectively. We welcome them back for another term.

New 2022 Coordinators:
As the Club continues to expand, so do our diverse needs. We welcome Jeff Imbus who is taking on the newly formed role of Umpire Coordinator this year. Another new undertaking is the hosting of a youth tournament this summer. Thank you to Kris Aeschlimann and Kristin Casey for stepping into the Club’s Tournament Coordinator role for this exciting new event under the Club’s ever expanding umbrella.

Volunteering:
Please consider joining our already amazing group of volunteers by becoming active in your daughters’ activities. There is plenty of room for more hands to help lighten the load. There are many opportunities that we have identified, from being a team parent to organizing the Summer Frolic parade float to coordinating camps for the players.  Visit our website for more committee descriptions. Not finding something you like in those choices; get creative! Offer to organize a trip to watch the UW-Badgers Softball Team, organize a trip to watch the Brewers, run a brat stand at Miller and Sons… The sky is the limit, get involved, get inspired, and be an example for your player! We hope to hear from you soon!

Membership:
Please, consider becoming a member of the Mount Horeb Softball Club this year. The fees help to offset costs to run the organization which in turn keeps the cost of events as low as possible to ensure all can be part of the fun and the learning. Additionally, the Club sets asides thousands of dollars every year to make field improvements at the fields not only the high school teams play at but also our youth – it is truly a win-win and your donation can help offset those costs. You can either register HERE or as part of the on-line youth registration process.

Thank You:
Finally, we would like to thank all those that make this undertaking we call the Mount Horeb Softball Club possible. This group donates countless hours to make for the best possible experience for all involved.

Sincerely,
The Mount Horeb Softball Club Board

A huge thank you to Dave Jones, Inc. for donating all the labor and materials for electrical upgrades at the softball fields.  They installed not only inside lighting, outlets, and exterior dusk to dawn lighting on our new storage shed, but also a wired light on the Varsity flag pole so our great flag can fly 24/7 once the season begins.  We are once again truly humbled by the generosity of our local business community.  The MHSC is eagerly looking forward to the next time our young ladies take the field, the crowd cheers, and the flag flies over our game!

Concession Stand Recap

Thank you to everyone who worked hard at the football concessions for the Viking Homecoming game! Special thanks to those who worked double shifts – that did not go unnoticed!! Finally a huge thank you to Jon and Wendy Steinhauer for providing their equipment and expertise to make cotton candy and snow cones. This stand alone made $1,000 for the softball club. In addition to our payment from the school to run the main concession stand, those working the windows brought in over $50 in tips – way to work it!!! The Softball Club hit another homerun on Friday night!!
